Big Weekend

This weekend I'm jetting off to Southend to play at an annual music event called Drumming Up Hope (see link on title). It's a two day live music gig in memory of drummer Michael Bettel, who died in 2003 aged 41. Mike played a lot of sessions with a variey of artists, and was a great drummer as well as a damn nice guy. All the proceeds from the gig go the cancer ward who looked after Michael whilst he was dying from an agressive brain tumour. Last year guitar legend Jeff Beck turned up and hung out in the acoustic room. Go check out the site for more info and if you are in the area come down.

Not entirely unrelated I've just about finished a home produced collection of songs that I'll be "putting out there" it'll be available from CDBaby in the next couple of weeks, but if you are brave enough to want a copy get in touch.

Voting Day!

I was still undecided, so I did the Who Should I vote For Quiz?

Who Should You Vote For?

Who should I vote for in Scotland?

Your expected outcome:

LibDem

Your actual outcome:

Labour -21
     Conservative 9
     Liberal Democrat 7
     UKIP 10
     Green 15
     Scottish National Party 49
     Scottish Socialist Party 48

You should vote: Scottish National Party

The SNP is broadly left of centre. It supports the Euro as being the national currency rather than sterling, but does not support the European Constitution in its current form. The party supports progressive taxation, student grants and the abolition of tuition fees. The SNP approach on soft drugs is more relaxed with a focus on treatment rather than punishment of hard drug users. It supports debt relief and CO2 emission reductions.
