bliadhna mhath ùr

That's, "Happy New Year", in the tongue of my kilted hairy ancestors and, "..'ave a good 'un mate.." from the English part of the family. Here's to 2006,....bring it on!

It's Christmas Eve!!!

Our window is fixed. The guys came yesterday and replaced it in 40 minutes....

Also I needed a backup guitar , so I found a 1986 E serial (the Fender geeks will realise the significance) Japanese 62 reissue Strat. It is beat to hell, has dings on it's dings and still looks better than the custom shop "relics" as this really has been played hard for 20 years. The pups are a wee bit spiky at times but the neck is fantastic, it's one of the best playing Strats I've had. I usually have a love hate thing with Strats but this one was a real blessing and I got it for less that the cost of a squier. Anywhoo I sold off the G3 Powerbook (see previous post) after doing it up then realising I didn't actually need it, but made a tidy profit which paid for the Strat. Good things come to those who wait.

We had the third Pure service on Sunday which went really well, I'm excited to see how it develops in the next year.

Well, it's Christmas Eve morning, almost my favourite day of the year, just praying for snow and God's continued good grace and fatherly love.

The Slings and Arrows & the faithful One

We seem to be taking a few hits at the moment, I think the fact that we are at the end of the year and just knackered doesn't help. So things seem much bigger than we are. Last night our patio door window was mysteriously broken. It's still intact but looks like something has hit it with tremendous force making a crazing pattern all over it. I had the police round as it looks as though it was either a thrown rock or an air gun pellett. Could have been worse but I'm looking over my shoulder a lot more and I'm edgier, more alert to any noise. It's weird because my first instinct was to get all "Tony Soprano" about it and rage. But I guess that's male pride and the protection gene kicking in. I switched on the God channel this morning and the message was about dealing with anger. I then came upstairs and logged onto the NYC Vineyard site to see what was new (I often listen to the online messages) and guess what the latest sermon from Mike T is? Yep, controlling your tongue, dealing with anger etc. Think God is trying to tell me something!!

Now that I'm dealing with Insurance companies and Police call centres I'm having to put this into practice. I have a fiery celtic temper, which I usually manage to keep under wraps but occasionally it seeps it's way out. My prayer is to keep calm and gentle of spirit whilst channeling all this other stuff in a more constructive way (my guitar is in for such a beating later).

However everytime I've felt like God has left the building over the past few weeks, he's caught me off guard by doing something amazing just to show that He is faithful and that that moment a feel a little daft for doubting Him.
